A.K. Espada is a Writer/Director and visual artist whose darkly satirical horror films have screened at the American Cinematheque in LA and the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. THIS IS OUR HOME (feature script) was an inaugural recipient of the Sundance Horror Fellowship. The proof of concept short won an Audience Award at Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, was selected to screen on SHUDDER in the Etheria Showcase, and now lives on Short of the Week. Other work includes dark fairy tale short I COULD JUST DIE, AND THAT WOULD BE ALL RIGHT (short film), selected for a The Future of Film is Female production grant and winner of the Minerva Award at FilmQuest 2023, and LAUNDRY NIGHT, currently streaming on Crypt TV. A.K.’s background as a Scenic Artist on projects like HAUNTED MANSION, CREED III, and Set Decorator on LOST IN RUSSIA and JUNE lend to her penchant for world-building.
